Just wait till you hear how today’s real wedding couple Ingrid and Ryan proposal story began. It’s just as sweet as any page in a real love story and showcases just how love can unfold when you least expect it. When Ryan was traveling to Australia Ingrid sent him a sweet note each day. Little did Ingrid realize Ryan was planning the perfect way to propose and used those sweet notes as inspiration and saved the last note to photograph an engagement ring! Ingrid and Ryan first met while playing on the same softball team. Ingrid and Ryan call the beginnings of their relationship “awkward, insistent and at times standoffish”. But when they began seriously dating in the summer of 2017, they soon knew they were meant to be together. In October of 2017, Ryan was away in Australia and Ingrid gave him one note per day to open and read. Ryan used those notes as inspiration to collect photographic memories of the trip, saving the last note to capture an engagement ring.
When I asked Ingrid and Ryan what they want to remember about their relationship, the first thing they said was “how much we laugh together”. After their adorable first look outside, they couldn’t stop laughing with each other. They didn’t need to say anything to each other – they just make each other so happy.
For their wedding day, Ingrid ordered her dress online which she fell in love with from BHDLN as she wanted her bridal style to be unique to her. As it was a chilly winter wedding, she paired her dress with a warm fur coat for her outdoor ceremony which was actually her Baba’s. She used Kori as her hairstylist, someone who had been doing her hair since she was 18 and even styled her hair from her prom. So sweet!
Their sunset wedding ceremony took place outdoors, but warm and cozy blankets were provided for the guests to keep warm. Although we weren’t surrounded by fresh white snow that day as we hoped for, the grounds of Holland Marsh Wineries were still just as lovely. Ingrid and Ryan could not stop smiling and the sun gloriously beamed back at them.
I knew Ingrid and Ryan wanted their day captured as “photojournalistic” and “candid” as possible to capture all the natural moments that happened throughout their special day. With all that joy that radiated the room, it was just too easy to do. Everyone was having a great time and with the 66 pies that Ingrid and Ryan ordered, everyone was well fed too!
